IMPROVING THE METHODOLOGY FOR DEVELOPING FUTURE ENGINEERS’ PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES IN TECHNICAL HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS BASED ON THE COMPETENCY-BASED APPROACH

This article provides an in-depth examination of the theoretical and practical
aspects of improving the methodology for developing future engineers’ professional
competencies in technical higher education institutions based on the competency-based
approach. The pedagogical, psychological, and methodological aspects of developing
independent thinking, problem-solving in complex and non-standard situations, digital
design skills, and the ability to work with innovative Industry 4.0 technologies in modern
engineering education are analyzed. Furthermore, based on the results of experimental
studies, practical proposals and improved methodological recommendations aimed at
enhancing the quality of future engineers’ professional training have been developed.
