THE NEED TO USE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TOOLS FOR DEVELOPING WRITING AND SPEAKING SKILLS IN IELTS PREPARATION
Keywords:
IELTS, writing skills, speaking skills, artificial intelligence, language assessment, feedback, English language teaching, language competence.Abstract
This article analyzes the content, structure, and assessment criteria of the IELTS
test, with particular emphasis on the competency requirements for writing and speaking
skills. The study aims to identify the opportunities and limitations of existing
methodological approaches to IELTS preparation and to provide a scientific and
methodological rationale for the use of artificial intelligence tools. The research is
theoretical and analytical in nature and employs document analysis, comparative analysis,
content analysis, and synthesis of relevant scholarly literature. The findings indicate that
the development of productive language skills is closely associated with regular practice,
individualized criterion-based feedback, and learners’ ability to recognize and correct
their own errors. Artificial intelligence can enhance this process by providing additional
practice, preliminary feedback, and individualized tasks; however, its pedagogical value
depends on teacher guidance and the critical evaluation of AI-generated results.
