This study examines the pedagogical effectiveness of using generative artificial
intelligence technologies in English language teaching. It analyzes the impact of generative
AI tools on students’ lexical and grammatical competence, written and spoken language
skills, reading and listening comprehension, independent learning activities, and learning
motivation. Generative artificial intelligence is regarded as a modern pedagogical tool that
enables the creation of tasks tailored to individual learning needs, provides immediate and
personalized feedback, facilitates interactive dialogue-based activities, supports text
editing, and allows the modeling of various communicative situations. The study argues
that the purposeful and methodologically grounded use of these technologies can enhance
the interactivity, personalization, and effectiveness of English language learning. At the
same time, particular attention should be paid to academic integrity, information
reliability, students’ independent thinking, and teachers’ pedagogical oversight when
using generative artificial intelligence.
