PEDAGOGICAL OPPORTUNITIES OF THE INNOVATIVE “LANGUAGE PORTFOLIO” APPROACH IN DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ LEARNING AND COGNITIVE ACTIVITY

This article analyzes the pedagogical opportunities of the innovative “Language
Portfolio” approach in developing students’ learning and cognitive activity. Its didactic features related to setting learning goals, independent knowledge acquisition, self-assessment, and reflection are examined. The pedagogical opportunities are systematized into activating-motivational, cognitive-organizational, reflective-diagnostic, and prognostic-developmental dimensions. It is substantiated that the systematic use of the Language Portfolio contributes to the development of student autonomy, reflective thinking, and individual learning trajectories.
