DEVELOPING RESEARCH SKILLS IN FUTURE TEACHERS AS A MODERN PEDAGOGICAL NECESSITY

This article provides a theoretical and methodological analysis of the contemporary
pedagogical necessity of developing research skills in future teachers. It substantiates the
need for higher pedagogical education to prepare future specialists not only as teachers
possessing professional knowledge and practical skills but also as teacher-researchers
capable of identifying problems arising in the educational process, scientifically
investigating their causes, searching for and analyzing relevant information, drawing
evidence-based conclusions, and continuously improving their pedagogical practice. The
role of research skills in developing future teachers’ professional competence, critical and
reflective thinking, independent decision-making, and innovative pedagogical activity is
examined. In addition, contemporary pedagogical factors influencing the development of
research skills are systematized, and the functional significance of these skills in future
teachers’ professional preparation is revealed. Based on the analysis, it is substantiated
that research skills should be developed not as an additional element of professional
pedagogical preparation but as one of its integral and essential components.
