This article presents a methodology for developing students’ aesthetic taste
through the design of national clothing and accessories in technology education. Project-
based learning was selected as the primary methodological approach, and the possibilities
of integrating atlas and adras fabrics, traditional skullcap ornaments, national jewelry
motifs, and other accessory elements into contemporary design solutions were analyzed.
Four project tasks were developed to enhance students’ aesthetic perception, aesthetic
evaluation, aesthetic choice, and creative-aesthetic transformation skills. In addition, a
100-point assessment model was proposed based on the criteria of understanding
national sources, harmony of color and form, compositional integrity, creative
transformation, functionality, and justification of design decisions. The results indicate
that integrating national clothing and accessory design with project-based activities
contributes to the development of students’ compositional and creative thinking,
conscious attitudes toward national cultural heritage, and competence in making
independent aesthetic decisions.
