Abstract

This article analyzes the pedagogical potential of tutoring in shaping students’
individual educational trajectories in higher education institutions. An individual
educational trajectory is considered a pedagogical process organized in accordance with
students’ personal needs, academic capabilities, interests, and professional goals. The
study involved 7 tutors working at Jizzakh State Pedagogical University and 198 students
selected from among those assigned to these tutors. Criterion-based analysis grounded in
pedagogical diagnostics was used to examine goal-motivational orientation, individual
planning, independent choice and educational activity, monitoring and self-management,
and reflective-professional orientation. The results showed that the tutor’s role as a
pedagogical diagnostician, consultant, facilitator, and educational mentor enables
students to consciously determine their individual learning paths, plan and monitor their
activities, and reflectively evaluate their outcomes. Based on the findings, the pedagogical
significance of a tutoring approach to shaping individual educational trajectories through
diagnostics, goal setting, planning, independent choice, monitoring, reflection, and
correction is substantiated.
