Abstract

This article examines the didactic potential of using digital technologies in teaching
the topic of phytohormones within the Plant Physiology course at higher education
institutions. It analyzes the possibilities of using animations, interactive diagrams, digital
tests, video materials, and problem-based tasks to teach the role of phytohormones in
regulating plant growth, development, and physiological processes. The research
methodology is based on a planned pedagogical experiment involving 105 third-year
biology students across six academic groups. A model has been developed to assess
students’ understanding of the mechanisms of phytohormone action, their ability to
explain physiological processes, and their biological problem-solving skills through the
use of digital tools during a single lesson. The article presents a scheme for organizing the
educational process, tables illustrating the main physiological effects of phytohormones,
and criteria for recording the results of the pedagogical experiment.
