Abstract

This article provides a theoretical and analytical examination of the impact of
generative artificial intelligence on the professional competence of future psychologists
in the context of modernizing the “Introduction to the Profession” course within
undergraduate psychology programs. Through a comparative analysis of international
studies and research conducted in the context of Uzbekistan published in 2025–2026, the
article argues that the quality of professional training is determined not by the frequency
of artificial intelligence use but by ethical awareness, self-regulation, critical verification,
and human oversight. An original integrative model is proposed, combining AI literacy,
methodological verification, professional ethics, supervision, and reflective practice into a
unified competency framework. The findings provide a basis for developing practical
recommendations to update the content of the “Introduction to the Profession” course in
response to digital transformation.
