In the modern healthcare system, the professional training of occupational
hygienists, sanitary and epidemiological service specialists, and public health educators relies on continuously updated knowledge, environmental and occupational risk assessment, preventive thinking, and evidence-based decision-making skills. This article, following the IMRAD framework, examines the adaptation of the principles of Continuing Medical Education (CME) to the activities of the Department of Community and Occupational Hygiene at the Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health. The methodological basis of the study includes published experience on implementing CME principles in academic departments, the regulatory framework of the Republic of Uzbekistan governing medical and pharmaceutical education and the continuous professional development of healthcare professionals, as well as an analysis of local needs in community hygiene, occupational hygiene, public health, sanitary surveillance, and occupational risk management. As a result, the study proposes a model for integrating modular professional development programs of 18, 36, 72, and 144 academic hours with community hygiene, industrial hygiene, occupational disease prevention, environmental monitoring, drinking water and ambient air safety, workplace assessment, health education, and digital epidemiological monitoring.
