Abstract

This article analyzes the introduction of digital technologies into theater and
cinema, examining the aesthetic, technological, and pedagogical aspects of this process. It
explores the transformation of digital theater during the COVID-19 pandemic from
conventional broadcasting into an independent art form, drawing on experiences from
Japan and Europe (“Gekidan Telework”, Zoom Kabuki). The study examines the
transformation of digital theater audiences from passive spectators into active
participants, as well as the increasing presence of younger audiences and their growing
preference for interactivity. It discusses the scientific foundations and practical
applications of contemporary developments in filmmaking, including virtual production,
artificial intelligence and machine learning, volumetric capture, high-resolution video
formats (4K, 8K, HDR), cloud-based post-production, and motion capture and
performance capture technologies. Furthermore, the article highlights the role of digital
tools in improving the effectiveness of arts education through virtual and augmented
reality (VR/AR), AI-driven personalized learning, digital archiving, and international
online collaboration. The findings substantiate the need to adapt these technologies to the
national film industry and arts education system.
